Fish Fry

We are planning a fish fry at our house, 613 N. Walnut St. in Seymour. Plan to arrive around 3:30 and bring a covered dish. The club will furnish fish, drinks and table service. Please call by August 24 and let us know if you are coming. Phone 812-523-3674.
Labor Day Tour Update!
Sept. 3, 4, 5 and 6 (Kathryn Sullivan, Phil Sutton) This year we are expanding the tour to three days or four days depending on what you are able to do. We are headed to Shipshewana and the sights of the area and Southern Michigan.
Friday Sept. 3-Leave Columbus mid- morning and take a leisurely drive north with some stops along the way.
Saturday Sept. 4-We have a day tour of the Shipshewana, Middlebury, Topeka, and Amish areas. We will visit various Amish businesses, a cheese factory, a popcorn facility, and anything that interests us. We will meet the folks coming up Saturday by mid-afternoon and continue our tour. That evening we are eating in an Amish home.
Sunday Sept 5- We will head into Southern Michigan and a private car collection. After touring the area we will head for Howe Indiana and a house tour.
Monday Sept. 6-We will start the day with a tour of the Hudson Museum.
This is reported to be the best collection of Hudsons in the U.S. We will then take a scenic drive back to Columbus and hope to arrive by mid-afternoon.
If you plan on joining us Friday through Monday please send $298.84 for three nights lodging, or if you are joining us on Saturday, send $199.26 for two nights lodging.

Elnora Antique Show
September 9, Thursday (Whiteman) This features tractors, steam engines, an antique machine shop museum and flea market.
We will leave West Hill Shopping Center at 7:30 am and take 46 West to McDonalds on Third Street in Bloomington. We will leave Bloomington at 8:30 taking IN 375 South to IN 58 West to Elnora.
Young Eagles September 11, Saturday (Morlock) Anyone interested in providing Model A rides to young kids, meet at the Columbus Airport terminal building at 8:00 am. The kids are given a free airplane ride and really North Vernon Airport Day

International Model A Ford Day Participation-McCormick’s Creek
September 19, Sunday (Sullivan, Jr.) We will leave Eastbrook at 9:00 am and pick up the Bloomington group at McDonald’s (St. Rd. 46) at 10:15. We will be traveling to McCormick’s Creek State Park for the lunch buffet for $11.99 a person. This is the third year events have been planned to celebrate the Model “A” internationally. It coincides with Henry Ford’s trip to Europe in September 1930 to “internationalize” the Model “A” Ford by establishing Ford plants in England, Holland and Germany.

(On your own.) Columbus MARC-Hoosier Hills MARC 2010 Vermont and Hershey Tour September 26 through October 9 2010 (Ruth Engs and Phil Sutton leaders) Sunday Sept 26: This is mainly a driving day ending up in the Amish area of Ohio. We will stay in the Sugar Creek area and enjoy some Amish hospitality.
Monday Sept 27: Another driving day through the mountains of Pennsylvania and New York to the Oleon-Hornell area.
Tuesday Sept 28: We will tour through the Finger Lakes region and the Wine Country and end up in the Skaneateles-Cazanovia area.
Wednesday Sept 29: We will skirt the Adironacks and Lake George ending up in our home for 5 days at Grey Bonnet Inn in Killington, Vermont.
Thurs Sept 30 through Sunday Oct 3: We will have 4 days of touring Vermont. Ruth Engs will take us North and Phil Sutton will take us South. Ruth is from Bethel, Vermont and Phil's great grandfather left Bridgeport, Vermont in 1850. We both have Vermont roots.
Monday Oct 4: This is mainly a driving day through rural Massachusetts and New York, great mountain scenery, the Hudson River, and the Catskills. We will stay in the Ellenville/Wurtsboro NY area.
Tuesday Oct 5: We will drive the Delaware River Valley into Penn. headed for Paradise, Penn. near Lancaster. This is in the Penn. Dutch area.
Wednesday Oct 6 and Thursday Oct 7: We will have two things going on while we are in Paradise. Those who would like to attend the Hershey swap meet can head up there. Those who want to see the many sights around the Penn Dutch country will stay in the area. The sights include the Amish Homestead tours, the Strasburg Railroad, interesting scenery, the Chocolate Factory in Lititz, the many Amish shops, and antique stores.
Friday Oct 8: We'll leave Penn. go through Maryland and end up in Clarkburg,W.V. This is a driving day.
Saturday Oct 9: We head across W.V. and Ohio for Indiana and home.
Deadline is August 1st. Phil will need the room cost for the 5 nights at the Grey Bonnet Inn in Killington. The five nights including breakfast is $493.96 per couple. If there are more than 2 per room call me and I will get the rates from the hotel at that time. Call me if there is only one and I will get that rate also. I will get the other hotel reservation after August 1 and will hold them on my credit card. I will send a list of hotels and the cost out toward the end of August.
